BOLIVIA 2014
With nearly half of the inhabitants being children in Bolivia, poverty has a major impact and many children lead a life on the streets, alone and without family. Kids at Play visited Bolivia twice in support of the orphanage 'Familia Feliz' in Rurrenabaque. The orphanage houses kids who are orphaned, abandoned, neglected or abused and provides these children with a family-like environment where they are loved and can grow up with a fair chance for the future.
THE PROJECT
When visiting the orphanage for the first time in 2014, we saw how poor the situation was and decided it was mainly urgent to provide clean water. And so we did, we build a water well.
Not much time after completing the project of the water well in 2014, there was a huge flood in Bolivia and the only clean water in the region was the well at the orphanage.
BOLIVIA 2017
Kids at Play visited Bolivia a second time end of 2017 to complete the construction of two dormitories in order to provide a comfortable housing for the orphans at ‘Familia Feliz’ whose goal it is to help the children grow and realize their full potential.
THE PROJECT
With the generous donations we received, the Kids at Play Foundation was able to realise the scheduled construction of the additional dormitories, upgrade the existing ones and as a bonus we built a playground and brought some extra joy and playfulness.
Kids at Play on location building a playground, a dormitory and new roofs, working on termite treatment and prevention to keep the kids of the orphanage dry for the coming rainy season.
FUNDING OUR PROJECTS!
In the past we have organised a charity run for every project we have worked on. Each time the charity run was a huge success and produced a lot of money for the cause. It’s our goal to keep on doing this for future projects.
